2022 Houston Latino Film Festival Winners
'The Last Archer' Wins Best Feature Film
The Last Archer, the Spanish documentary that gave painter, Alberto Manrique his memory back, wins best feature film at Houston Latino Film Festival. Manrique, who co-founded the Archers of Contemporary Art in Spain, is portrayed in the intimate debut film by his granddaughter Dácil Manrique de Lara.
During the course of the 5-day event, which began on March 23, 2022, HLFF presented more than 50 independent films from 19 countries. Parsley (Perejil), the story based on the 1937 Perejil Massacre when a Dominican dictator ordered the execution of Haitian communities, won the Audience Award for best feature film.
